...and on the seventh day...

God rested.

How did that line sneak past me? I mean, really... God "rested"? God the omni-everything can actually get tired? And there, my friends, is our continuing problem in our relationship with the Almighty.
There just isn't any. How can we begin to understand the enormity of creation? It would be easier for an ant to understand HTML code.

Despite the futility of it, we continue to try, although lately the preponderance of effort seems to be falling on 'There is no God.' It's like, after a few millenia of trying, the ant says, 'There is no HTML code.'

There have been Herculean efforts made on both sides of the God spectrum, but no proof for or against God has yet to be found. There is no church in the mountains of Chile where the sun shines every Sunday; there is no scientific equation that starts with nothing and ends with something. Albert Einstein, the smartest 'ant' we've had so far, said as much: "I want to know God's thoughts; all the rest are details."

That said, it is viscerally comforting to think of a creator, to have faith in something WAY beyond our ken. There's just too much evil out there for us to be able to handle it alone. If you would like to put a little peace in your daily life, click on the title of this article; it works for me.
