Two unrelated factoids:

As of this writing, the 'hallowed ground' of the 9/11 tragedy remains an essential hole in New York's heart. While we have managed to raze and build three state-of-the-art sports arenas, the Ground Zero Memorial continues to plod along; they're 'rushing' to finish it in the next year.
2)
Three years AFTER 9/11, the Arab Emirate of Dubai broke ground on the construction of the world's tallest building. Despite numerous setbacks -- worker strikes, a tanking worldwide economy, lightning hazards -- The
Burj Dubai skyscraper opened in January. It is widely considered a world wonder.

410 days. Over 3,000 workers -- mostly immigrants and Mohawk Indians -- toiled in the teeth of this country's Great Depression. The skyscraper was widely considered a world wonder.
